More than a woman

Iris Apfel is probably one of my all time favourite women, ever. The 91 year old business women, interior designer and fashion icon is one of the most highly regarded creatives in the industry. She has an undeniable knack for making 'dressing as art' seem completely acceptable for everyday activities such baking cakes and picking up laundry. Jeff Bark shot her for the Dazed Digital November issue in her eclectic Manhattan home. Amazingly styled by senior fashion editior Robbie Spencer in Rei Kawakubo’s 2D Comme des Garçons collection. WHATA WOMAN!

Here is the FALL 2012 lookbook for LF Stores in the US.
It is so awesome to see boutiques pulling off their own amazing editorials and lookbooks. LF is really hitting all the right notes when it comes to online integration of their business. With the growing social media and online prescene of fashion labels and boutiques, you really do have to bring something new to your consumers computer screens. Check it y'all!

cap-tain

As i'm writing this i'm quite literally sipping on an ice tea on a sun bed next to my pool. This weekend definitely feels like summer is hot on our heels and probably one of my more practical purchases for the sunny season will be a cap. I have been trolling the internet for months looking for a leather baseball cap and finally proceeded to checkout this morning...hooray! This purchase i'm sure will be extremely useful for all my outdoor activities like beach volley ball (i wish), surfing (i wish) and eating fish and chips by the bay (definitely). Small accessories like a hat are pretty perfect if you don't want to go too crazy on a particular trend (e.g. tropical prints...you can never actually go too crazy on tropical prints but whatever) and they won't cost you your left kidney either, I sound so economical on paper...HA!

So now i'm kind of going cap crazy and now cannot stop thinking of anything but a matching cap and swimsuit.....

A shoot from Oyster Magazine #101 'Let's get Digital'! I am totally in love with the styling and concept of this shoot. Strong nature, archaeological and ancient outdoors trends seem to be appearing, which will surely come to life in the new year. Sporty 'camouflage' elements are definitley their too. Ah Oyster, you do know the way to my heart..

Rookie road trippin'

Tavi Gevinson and her 'rookies' teamed up with Urban Outfitters for this summer look book. It's definitely has a whimsical feel with all those pastel shades and 90's charm. There is a little bit of Virgins Suicides being referenced aswell. Girl got skillz...

ACCLAIM MAGAZINE

I picked up this issue of Acclaim Magazine at my local coffee shop and loved this cover shot (they actually have 2 cover's - this one is for  general release). The shot comes from their awesome sportswear inspired fashion story 'Solid Earth'. Worth a read, grab a copy here!

carefully, carefree

Carefree, eclectic and off the cuff styling seem to be on the zeitgeist of editorial at the moment. This is definitley a trend we will see becoming more prominent in the coming year, especially S/S 14. Trends that are seeming to stick around are mixing prints and sport luxe.
