Simone Rocha's runway show in London last month caught my attention because of the undeniable youthfulness. I loved the school girl awkwardness that drifts through the collection's aesthetic with just the right amount of refined ladylikeness in her designs. Also her exceptional use of fabric and texture, with laminated leathers, crochet and cotton broderie anglaise and neon sunflower lace made of plastic.
Rocha knows what the youth of today wants to wear because the young designer is amongst them. I think I am so drawn to her designs, because of the dialogue she maintains between her designs and the woman who wear them. The effortlessness Rocha possess in this collection mixes lil lady and tomboyish charm just right. These are my favourites from the show, with special mention of those delicious brogues look like an underground rave on your feet!
